Why do we need to calculate the cementing additives' thickening time?

A plenty of slurry is in need during the process of oilfield drilling. At the beginning, the slurry liquid, while Water and cement hydration to generate natural gas hydrates, the slurry coalescence and thicken, become jelly then stop flowing. The time cement slurry get to the specified consistency, we called the thickening time!

The thickening time of slurry is the basis of cementing construction time, related to the cementing quality, even the success of the cementing!

So we need to carefully calculate the cementing thickening time, make it within the specified timeframe, and the cementing additive cementing retarder will get the good effect on the thickening time!
